About

1st. Some of these posts are works in progress. So the thoughts may seem scattered. I invite comments.

After over 45 years of Studying God’s Word, and living through numerous moves of God,  including The Jesus Movement and all of subsequent “moves of God” or movements that were birthed out of that, The Charismatic Movement,  The Worship Music Explosion,  the advent of Contemporary Christian Music, Christian Television, the Brownsville Revival, the growth of the Mega-Church phenomenon, numerous scandals & failed pastors, scandalous televangelists and just about every goofy trend the Body of Christ can muster, I’ve come to some pretty unorthodox conclusions about the Gospel.  I Love God,  I Love His Word, and I Love His People.

That being said,  I’m pretty convinced “The Church” as we understand that institution in America and the world, is her own worst enemy.  I’m also convinced that The Church, for centuries, has misrepresented God in so many ways that it’s very hard, if not impossible, if a person only gets their “Gospel” from the pulpit, for a person to experience true reconciliation, unless they are discipled, and taught by an individual “who gets it”. This is not an indictment to pastors as much as it is a cultural observation.

I’m pretty convinced that if you are a Christ follower, but depend on getting most of your understanding of who Jesus is, and what the plan of God is, from the pulpit, rather than having had it revealed to you through God’s Word, then you really have no clue.

Trust me, I know that sounds very elitist. I’ve struggled with that harsh reality for quite some time. I’ve realized that so much of what we think is Christianity in America, is really just a strange Americanized culturally diluted version of a religion that embraces some elements of “The Way” but really bears no resemblance to the Ministry of Reconciliation.

So my hope, is that you find some of my perspective interesting, and that you’re challenged. The purpose of this blog is to deliberately be a thorn in the side of strongholds of belief that have diluted the true message of Reconciliation. Jesus died on the cross and then He rose from the dead. He conquered sin, death and the grave.

That’s a very big deal. It’s not just a catch phrase. But it’s a defining statement to the true people of God. I hope you enjoy what you read here. Please feel free to comment. If your comments are condescending, slanderous, or default to silly religious accusations like heresy, error, or any of the other silly names American legalists, who call themselves Christians, call each other, then I will block you. But if you come here with some fiery conversation, that challenges my thinking, then you are welcome here. I do want to say though, that I’ve heard just about every argument on the planet. So let’s have some stimulating conversation. And may both our tents be enlarged!

In Him…….

  1. There are so few men who have challenged religious superstitions. I’m looking forward to this site. I hope it encourages others to seek out their potential through the most important aspect of Christianity……our likeness to the Father through Grace!
